What is it?
The Government are spending over £450 Million on improving physical education and sport in primary schools from 2013 through to 2016. Schools can choose how they spend the funding within certain criteria.
How much will we receive?
We receive approximatley £16,000 each year in two instalments, depending on number on role in September.
What does this mean for our school?
-
Access for all pupils to a broader variety of sports and activities through Introductory Clubs e.g. Archery and Fencing
-
Improvement of playtime facilities
-
Playground redeveloped to enable a variety of sports focused at KS2
-
Staff training in PE subjects such as Dance class, Athletics and Orienteering
-
More intra and inter-school competitions
How can you become involved?
We always welcome ideas for improving the PE and Sport facilities from our parents and community partners! Feel free to speak to the Governors or Head teacher if you have any ideas.
Remember, we need this grant to be used on long term effective investments, where we can demonstrate it:
-
has measurably improved the health and wellbeing of our pupils
-
includes all pupils in the school
-
improves sport participation and attainment
This document will be revised throughout the year as new opportunities arise to support the physical and mental wellbeing of our pupils.
